Eldritch Blast. Sounds like a really bad flavor of Mountain Dew. Hello, everybody, and welcome to episode three of the erasable spellcast. This is the stunning conclusion. I'm here with my. My cohorts in magic, Ralph Rex and Samik Stoneback. I am Andros Golden Bear. And we're. This is wrapping up our D and D game to celebrate our 200th episode. And then we'll get back to regularly scheduled programming afterwards. But meanwhile, I'm going to turn it over to our fearless dungeon master and special guest, Monica Corwin. Hey, Monica.

Monica Corwin 0:47

Hey.

Andy 0:47

Hello. For those of you who are joining us on Patreon and can see video, we cannot see Monica's face, but we're looking at a little, like, map of the dungeon that we are currently in. Monica, do you want to give us a kind of recap of where we left off and then we can jump into it?

Monica Corwin 1:03

Yeah, of course. So last time you guys left the inn in the little village that you had found, wandered through the. Into the forest and started to traverse some clearings, you solved a puzzle that involved some books and some potentially attacking golems that didn't end up doing too much damage to you guys. And then you entered the temple, which is what is being shown on the map. It is a sort of rectangle temple. And there are. There were five or there are four wyrmlings in this temple, which you guys started a combat round with the last. Towards the end of the last session, which is where we left off. The Initiative order was. Was Johnny, Tim, Andy, and then the worming wyrmlings last. But I don't know exactly where we stopped in the Initiative one. So I'm gonna start. Just start at the top.

Tim 1:56

Well, I think didn't we finish with me doing Thunderclap because we like. Because I was about to do Thunderclap, which was like a risky move, but I was just, like, going for it. So I think that's where we.

Andy 2:06

You never start with Thunderclap.

Tim 2:10

That's what I always say. This time, though. Yeah. So just. Yeah.

Monica Corwin 2:15

Oh, they were making constitution saving throws, right?

Andy 2:18

Well, yeah.

Tim 2:19

I don't even know if. Had I rolled?

Monica Corwin 2:21

I don't think you had.

Tim 2:23

I don't even have to first.

Monica Corwin 2:24

Yeah.

Tim 2:28

And also you guys do too, right?

Monica Corwin 2:30

Anybody within the area of effect.

Tim 2:32

So within 100ft.

Monica Corwin 2:34

Yeah. Everybody. Yep. Let's do.

Tim 2:41

And I am. Says 2d6.

Monica Corwin 2:44

Yep. Let me roll. And then everybody else do their roll with their D20 and you add your constitution modifier. Ooh, not great.

Andy 2:56

I have 12 and I cannot remember what my constitution modifier is, but I'm pulling up. Pulling up my stat sheet right now.

Tim 3:04

And do I need a roll for myself, I believe.

Monica Corwin 3:10

Okay.

Tim 3:10

Let me look at the st. That could kill me. I'm at 14. Health

Andy 3:19

thought of that before you did Thunderclap kill me. Constitution modifier is C N. Right.

Monica Corwin 3:25

Each. Okay. So each. Each creature other than you within five feet of you must make the constitution saving throw. So you are here. So the Brass Dragon and the Silver Dragon are the only people that have to make the constitution saving throw.

Tim 3:40

So they don't need to, do they?

Monica Corwin 3:42

Yeah, so nobody else needs to do it. Just these two.

Tim 3:45

Good.

Johnny 3:45

I rolled a Terrible.

Tim 3:46

Excellent.

Monica Corwin 3:47

They both failed that. So they'll damage for that general the 2D6. Boom.

Tim 3:57

I'm glad you said that because all I saw was 100ft. I didn't see the range area. It's the first time I've done a ranged attack.

Monica Corwin 4:03

Like a. Yeah, it can just be heard 100ft away, but only are going to take damage.

Tim 4:10

But for the rest of the episode, we have to be like.

Johnny 4:11

What?

Monica Corwin 4:12

Huh?

Andy 4:12

What?

Tim 4:13

What did you say?

Monica Corwin 4:15

What was the damage on that?

Tim 4:17

Oh, I'm rolling. Yeah, sorry. I forgot. So the first one takes two plus four. Six damage.

Monica Corwin 4:26

You rolled a two and a four.

Tim 4:28

Huh?

Monica Corwin 4:28

Okay. Got it though. They both take the same amount of damage.

Tim 4:31

Oh, okay. So six each.

Monica Corwin 4:33

Six each. This dragon right here, the grass one, I believe he sort of wobbles on his perch and then falls off. He is dead. He took a bit of damage from Rafex last time. And then the Silver Dragon.

Tim 4:50

Teamwork.

Johnny 4:53

Fist bump.

Monica Corwin 4:54

Right? That was Tim. And so that means Andy is up there.

Andy 5:01

All right.

Monica Corwin 5:03

I.

Andy 5:05

Let's see. I'm trying to think of my.

Monica Corwin 5:08

You are here.

Andy 5:11

All right. I probably better just attack. What's the one? What kind of dragon is the one closest to me?

Monica Corwin 5:15

The one right there. That's copper.

Andy 5:16

Is that copper? Why don't I do an eldritch blast at the Copper Dragon?

Monica Corwin 5:20

Yeah, go for it.

Andy 5:22

Boom. And. Sorry, I'm rolling my D20 for that.

Monica Corwin 5:26

Yes. Yeah. So you would roll two. And I believe. Let me see. You might have one or two strikes of the eldritch blast. Depends on your luck.

Andy 5:34

I have one D4 plus two.

Monica Corwin 5:39

One second. You get to hit twice with that eldritch blast.

Andy 5:44

Sounds like a really bad flavor of Mountain Dew.

Monica Corwin 5:47

It's not.

Tim 5:52

Or like most things in D and D, it also sort of sounds like a metal band.

Andy 5:57

Get it now with your.

Tim 5:59

Yeah.

Andy 5:59

Chalupa Supreme. I rolled a 15.

Monica Corwin 6:05

Yep. That'll hit.

Andy 6:06

And I'm trying to think. Do I have any modifiers with that? I have a plus five.

Monica Corwin 6:11

Yep. So you would. So that be a 20 to hit.

Johnny 6:15

Okay.

Monica Corwin 6:17

And then you're gonna roll. I think it's D10. A D10 for the damage. That looks Which.

Andy 6:27

Yeah, show me which one does that look like?

Monica Corwin 6:29

It looks like this.

Andy 6:30

Okay, that one. Yep. Okay.

Tim 6:33

No, I was wrong. I was wrong. That was a 12.

Monica Corwin 6:34

Yeah, yeah.

Tim 6:37

It's this one, right? The little triangular. Yeah, yeah.

Monica Corwin 6:39

Nope, that's. Oh, yeah, that's right. Yep.

Andy 6:41

Yep. I rolled an eight.

Tim 6:42

Okay.

Monica Corwin 6:43

An eight for the first one. Yes. Okay.

Andy 6:48

Four.

Monica Corwin 6:53

Is that it for you? Would you like to move?

Andy 6:56

Yeah, why don't I move in closer to. Closer to my friends, so maybe move

Monica Corwin 7:02

up one right here?

Andy 7:05

Yeah.

Monica Corwin 7:06

Okay. Is that it for you?

Andy 7:09

Yes.

Monica Corwin 7:10

All right, it is the dragon's turn.

Tim 7:15

Here we go. So all three get turns back to back.

Monica Corwin 7:19

I'll start here with the silver. Yeah. They all. All three of them will get a turn.

Andy 7:23

Wait, does Ralph Rex not get a turn?

Monica Corwin 7:25

He was initiative, so he was already. He already did his turn.

Andy 7:29

Got it.

Johnny 7:29

I want to hide.

Monica Corwin 7:31

He's over here hiding. So reference tier. So you can see here by this dragon that died where it's died. And then you're back here. There we go. Sorry. I was looking for the right dude here. All right, so he. The silver dragon is going to make a bite attack over at Samik.

Tim 7:53

Bring it.

Monica Corwin 7:54

Okay.

Tim 7:56

Bring it.

Monica Corwin 7:57

That's going to be a 16 to hit. Does that hit you?

Tim 8:05

Wait, 16?

Monica Corwin 8:07

Yeah. So I need to look up against your AC.

Tim 8:10

My AC?

Monica Corwin 8:11

Yep.

Johnny 8:12

That is armor class.

Tim 8:16

Armor class is 12.

Monica Corwin 8:18

Yep. So that will hit you and it. The bite attack at least is less than its breath weapon, which you took damage from last time. So not as bad hanging on by a thread.

Tim 8:29

Yeah.

Monica Corwin 8:30

That is three points of bite damage that you will take there. So not too bad. Okay.

Andy 8:39

All right.

Tim 8:40

I'm under 50%. Can I do later? Can I do cure wounds on myself?

Monica Corwin 8:46

Is that. Yes you have allowed.

Tim 8:48

Okay, cool.

Monica Corwin 8:49

And you can do that as an action during combat or after, you know, healing at any time. This bronze dragon is going to move up here to Andrew.

Andy 8:57

Ralph, get out of there. Get back here.

Tim 8:59

Could you use some help, Ralph? Indiana Jones.

Monica Corwin 9:06

Use its repulsion breath.

Andy 9:10

Ooh, a knee. Brush your teeth, bud.

Monica Corwin 9:14

Andros, I'm gonna need you to make a strength saving throw.

Andy 9:17

Okay. Which one do I use for that?

Monica Corwin 9:19

And it's a D20. And you add your Modifier that's under your strength saving area.

Andy 9:24

All right.

Monica Corwin 9:25

Strength.

Andy 9:27

So just. Oh, no. I just rolled a one.

Monica Corwin 9:30

Oh, no.

Andy 9:32

And what's my strength modifier? Where do I find that?

Monica Corwin 9:37

Are you looking at your.

Andy 9:39

Mine's up a. Yeah, Mine says negative one.

Monica Corwin 9:42

Yeah, that's about right. Because you are zero.

Johnny 9:45

Oh, no.

Monica Corwin 9:45

Yeah. You're not a fighter. So.

Andy 9:47

So zero.

Monica Corwin 9:52

The repulsion breath is a 30 foot cone. So it's going to. I might have to roll for this guy too, actually. Strings. All right, well, he failed too, so. And it's going to push you both 30ft back. So you're going to get. So you're gonna feel this like rush of hot air against your face.

Andy 10:14

Yeah.

Monica Corwin 10:14

And then it's going to be. Get forceful and you're not going to be able to hold onto your footing and you're going to tumble backwards. And with that natural one, you're going to land on your back prone.

Andy 10:24

Okay.

Monica Corwin 10:26

And then this Copper dragon is also going to get thrown back over here.

Andy 10:29

Yeah.

Tim 10:30

Imagine you like flying back and hitting the wall. Sliding down the wall.

Monica Corwin 10:34

Exactly. So you're going to be on your back prone, and that is a status condition. So when it is your turn again, you have to use half your movement to. To stand up.

Andy 10:42

Okay, Got it.

Monica Corwin 10:43

But I'll remind you,

Andy 10:50

Monica, what's your. What field notes are you using?

Monica Corwin 10:52

The same one as last time. It's the.

Andy 10:54

Oh, right, the Wednesday one.

Tim 10:56

Oh, yeah.

Monica Corwin 10:56

Or no, it's the. It's an Irish one.

Andy 10:58

Nice.

Monica Corwin 10:59

St. Patrick's Day one.

Tim 11:00

Yeah.

Monica Corwin 11:00

It's almost empty or almost finished though, so be getting a new one soon. All right, so then when that puts us. I think that was the Copper Dragon over here was the last one that needs to go. Oh, it will use habit movement to get back up.

Tim 11:21

Is he going to kick Andros while he's down?

Andy 11:24

Probably. I'm the closest.

Monica Corwin 11:27

It is going to actually.

Andy 11:29

Save yourselves.

Monica Corwin 11:30

Get up and move this way.

Andy 11:33

All right.

Monica Corwin 11:33

And then that's going to be it for that. So then we'll go back to the top of it with Rawfrince.

Andy 11:40

Awesome.

Johnny 11:41

So I would like to use my sneak attack on whichever dragon this is. That's right on top of Tim's character here.

Monica Corwin 11:50

That's the silver dragon. Yeah. So if you get up here behind it. Yeah. You can flank it too. And that will give you advantage.

Andy 11:57

Give it your all, Johnny.

Johnny 11:59

Give it 2.

Monica Corwin 12:02

Do not know advantage. You get to roll 2d 20s and take the higher roll.

Andy 12:06

Nice.

Johnny 12:08

1018.

Monica Corwin 12:11

Wait, crit. That will definitely Hit

Johnny 12:15

and then roll

Monica Corwin 12:16

your damage for me.

Andy 12:18

One plus five plus two.

Monica Corwin 12:21

Not great. That was your sneak attack. You should also have damage for the actual.

Johnny 12:27

Oh, crud. What do I roll for that again?

Monica Corwin 12:29

Is it on your thin?

Johnny 12:31

A D4?

Monica Corwin 12:33

I think so. I think it was a D4 for a dagger.

Johnny 12:36

What a lame little weapon.

Andy 12:39

One.

Monica Corwin 12:40

All right, so one didn't go as

Johnny 12:42

well as I'd hoped.

Monica Corwin 12:44

I cannot remember all three of your damage rolls.

Johnny 12:47

Oh, it's nine altogether.

Monica Corwin 12:49

Okay, got it. Thank you for missing that for me. And then that was your one hand, so you still have your offhand attack. Sweet.

Johnny 12:57

I'm just going to go at him with another dagger.

Monica Corwin 13:00

Yep. And that one will just be your regular dagger damage, not sneak attack one. Okay.

Johnny 13:08

Thanks for learning.

Monica Corwin 13:09

Looking not great. All right, Would you like to do nams?

Johnny 13:16

Do I have a. Oh, my bonus action for dash. Engage or hide. Can I use that to run over near where Andy is all by himself on the ground?

Monica Corwin 13:24

Yep, you totally can, but you've moved. Hold on. You are here.

Andy 13:28

See you, Samik.

Monica Corwin 13:30

So you're going to bonus action disengage so you don't get a tag of opportunity used against you, and then come over here, count it again so you can probably get right about there. Awesome.

Johnny 13:45

Got your back, man.

Andy 13:46

Thanks.

Monica Corwin 13:48

Let's see you. See you next time.

Johnny 13:49

Hey, bud.

Monica Corwin 13:49

Hey, Tim. Yeah.

Tim 13:53

Okay, so I get a movement, a bonus action, and a. Like a spell or something.

Monica Corwin 14:01

Right, Right, Exactly. But I believe you have a counter on there, and I'm trying to figure out what that counter is. Follower. I think it. It might have frightened you. The last one, it's a scared. In which case you would have to move away from it. Okay, let me just double check, I think.

Tim 14:21

Did I scare myself with the thunderclap? Yeah.

Andy 14:24

I mean, yeah.

Tim 14:27

It's so loud. Guys, did you hear that?

Andy 14:30

Okay.

Tim 14:32

And. Okay, so I'm gonna move.

Monica Corwin 14:35

Oh, you were. Okay, yeah, you're good. Go ahead.

Andy 14:38

Okay.

Tim 14:39

How far can I make.

Monica Corwin 14:40

You can move 30ft, or if your character sheet says more than more, but it's typically 30ft.

Andy 14:46

Yeah.

Tim 14:46

Okay. Can I move sort of towards the middle of those three dragons?

Monica Corwin 14:50

Yes. Yep.

Tim 14:52

As far as I can go? If I can get to the middle.

Monica Corwin 14:54

Yeah, you totally can.

Tim 14:55

And how far are they from me?

Monica Corwin 14:57

They're about the five feet from me.

Andy 15:01

Okay. I don't know why you want to do that.

Tim 15:03

Do that, Tim, but I'm going to do thunderclap again. So within five. So they're all within five feet. So that's 2D6 per or no? Yes. 2D6. So I'm going to. Here we go.

Monica Corwin 15:17

I got to make that is one of them succeeded, two of them failed.

Tim 15:23

I'll take it. Okay. And is that a zero? There's a zero on here.

Monica Corwin 15:30

That's a ten.

Tim 15:31

Really?

Monica Corwin 15:32

Yep. The zero.

Andy 15:33

It's a hundred.

Monica Corwin 15:34

You've got one, and then it back around to zero.

Tim 15:38

So it goes 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 10.

Andy 15:41

That's a six.

Tim 15:42

I'm doing a D6. Because I'm supposed to do D6, right?

Monica Corwin 15:48

Okay. Do you thunderclap? Yeah, D6.

Tim 15:52

Thunderclap is 2 D6. Okay, so that's a 6. So the 6.

Andy 15:55

Him knows math. He knows numbers.

Tim 15:57

10. I did it.

Monica Corwin 15:59

Hey, we got that.

Andy 16:00

Yay.

Monica Corwin 16:01

10 damage. So the ones that failed will each take 10, and then the one that succeeded should take half. Usually they took a good amount of damage.

Tim 16:15

And I am, for my bonus action, I'm going to give Andros and inspiration.

Monica Corwin 16:21

How.

Andy 16:22

What does that mean?

Tim 16:24

It means you get an extra pin here. He gains an inspiration die of 1D8.

Monica Corwin 16:29

Oh, thank you. What do you do to inspire him?

Tim 16:36

Sing him a song? Well, I. I definitely call out. Cause he's still, like, laying on the ground.

Monica Corwin 16:40

Yeah.

Tim 16:42

And so I'm, like, yelling out and telling him, like. But I'm talking, like, way too loud because my ears hurt from the thunderclap, and I'm not sure if he can hear me. So I. I call out to him and I say, I think that worked. And then I yell out to Andros and tell him, just in case he doesn't know, I say, don't worry, We've got your back. And also, Ralph is right behind you, because Ralph has come around. So I'm reminding him that we're all, like, in his area, because I'm assuming he's kind of, like, coming out of a stupor because he's like, you're. We got your back, and I'm.

Monica Corwin 17:13

Silver Dragon died in that third clip. So he.

Andy 17:17

I'm inspired by the power of magic of friendship.

Monica Corwin 17:21

All right.

Andy 17:21

The power of song from the night is young and you're so beautiful. Don't stop. Where am I getting this energy? It's too early.

Monica Corwin 17:35

Andros is on you.

Andy 17:37

All right, well, first I gotta get up.

Monica Corwin 17:39

Yep.

Andy 17:41

And remind me what that means. So I get up, but you just stand up.

Monica Corwin 17:45

That just means you lose 15ft of your movement.

Andy 17:48

Okay, 15ft of my movement.

Monica Corwin 17:51

You have 50. You should have about 15ft left.

Andy 17:54

Okay. So I should probably. I should probably go after that copper dragon who's the closest to me.

Monica Corwin 18:01

Yep.

Andy 18:02

And I just. Looking at all my various things, I think my only one that's really like that good for attack is a. Is still the Eldritch Blast.

Monica Corwin 18:19

It is a classic. Yep.

Andy 18:20

Yeah. So I think I'll probably still do that one.

Monica Corwin 18:22

All right, go for it.

Andy 18:23

Okay. And I'm rolling my D20 for that.

Monica Corwin 18:27

And then.

Andy 18:27

Forgive me. Can you hear the fire truck outside my window?

Monica Corwin 18:34

15.

Andy 18:35

So I got 15 plus the six hit modifier.

Monica Corwin 18:44

Yeah. So that'll definitely hit.

Andy 18:45

Okay. And do I need to roll?

Monica Corwin 18:47

Yeah, you'll need to do it twice.

Andy 18:49

Okay.

Monica Corwin 18:50

You will roll your damage 5. Right. The second one does not. But the first one will hit, so just roll your dice for that one.

Andy 18:59

And that's my D10.

Monica Corwin 19:00

An exo.

Andy 19:01

Sorry. Someday I'll get accustomed to.

Monica Corwin 19:04

I take practice. Okay.

Andy 19:08

D10 is. Oh, no, it's a double zero.

Monica Corwin 19:13

So that. Oh, okay. So that's not a D10, but it can work. That would count as a 10.

Andy 19:17

Oh, okay. Yes.

Monica Corwin 19:21

All right. This guy is down.

Andy 19:26

Thanks for the inspo, Tim. There you go. All right, Back. And I'm gonna move a second.

Monica Corwin 19:34

Anything else? Would you like to. Anything.

Andy 19:36

Damage, doesn't he.

Monica Corwin 19:38

He does have some damage. He's about halfway.

Tim 19:40

I'm down to 14 out of 25.

Andy 19:42

Okay. And what's going on with Ralph?

Tim 19:46

11.

Monica Corwin 19:47

I don't think he's taking any damage. Okay.

Andy 19:49

I don't know how to do heal. Can you help me figure out how to heal? Is that a thing I can do or is that not?

Monica Corwin 19:57

I believe it might be because I think Eldrich Blast is your cantrip.

Andy 20:02

Yeah.

Monica Corwin 20:03

And then what is your healing? Is it a spell?

Andy 20:07

Oh, I'm looking. I don't know if I ever added a healing spell. Charm person, enthrall, illusory script, Misty step and phantasmal force.

Monica Corwin 20:19

Yeah. Nope.

Andy 20:21

Okay. Sorry, guys.

Monica Corwin 20:24

I do believe. Did you guys get healing potions?

Andy 20:29

Inventory?

Johnny 20:31

Familiar.

Andy 20:33

I don't have it in my inventory, but I guess that doesn't mean that we don't have it. Yeah, Yeah, I think.

Tim 20:41

I mean, I'm good. I'll probably do it on my.

Andy 20:44

Okay. Yeah, I think.

Tim 20:45

Heal myself.

Andy 20:47

Physician, heal thyself. I have a combat action. That's help. And then who's going next? I think it's. Is it Ralph next?

Monica Corwin 20:56

Yeah, Ralph is next. But the action you already took was the attack, right?

Andy 21:02

Okay.

Monica Corwin 21:02

Yeah. So help would be a different action if you do that instead of attack.

Andy 21:06

Well, let me move a little bit. Closer. With my last remaining.

Monica Corwin 21:10

Where would you like to move?

Andy 21:13

Just on the other side of that. Sort of like. Yeah, step. Okay, cool.

Tim 21:18

Good. Yes.

Andy 21:19

Okay. All right, Ralph, you got this.

Monica Corwin 21:23

Next.

Tim 21:24

Oh, wait. Do we go to the dragon?

Monica Corwin 21:26

Yep. It's the dragon's turn.

Andy 21:27

Oh, yeah. Come at me.

Monica Corwin 21:31

Bronze dragon.

Andy 21:33

Bronze dragon.

Monica Corwin 21:37

Let me see if it gets its breath weapon back.

Tim 21:41

That funky dragon.

Andy 21:44

Play that funky dragon rifle.

Monica Corwin 21:49

It's going to. I think it's actually going to come over here at raw fix because it has seen it hit several of its friends multiple times. Not very happy about it. Let's see here. Oh, that's not going to hit it. I believe it's an 11. I don't think 11 hits you graphic.

Johnny 22:10

Where would that be?

Monica Corwin 22:11

It's on your seat. So it's at the top.

Johnny 22:12

Yeah.

Tim 22:13

Armor class.

Monica Corwin 22:13

Yeah.

Johnny 22:13

Mine's 13.

Monica Corwin 22:14

13. Okay. Yeah, it doesn't hit. It's going to chomp at you, but you're just too quick. You kind of dodge out of the way.

Johnny 22:21

All right, Adderall.

Monica Corwin 22:22

We'll go right to the top. That's all I can do. And then we're back with Johnny.

Johnny 22:33

Well, I'm super pissed about that, so I'm just gonna lunge at its face with both daggers.

Monica Corwin 22:39

Yeah, Go for it.

Andy 22:41

Four. Yay.

Tim 22:42

And four.

Monica Corwin 22:44

Two Hit.

Johnny 22:45

Oh, I'm sorry.

Monica Corwin 22:46

Yeah, no, you're good. You get it right. 8. 8/ what to hit. You usually have a modifier on tells you.

Johnny 22:57

Where would that be? I'm sorry.

Monica Corwin 22:58

That would be. That's okay. That's. Let me get your. It should be under your actions and then under your dagger. Yeah. So you have a plus six to hit.

Andy 23:10

Oh, nice.

Johnny 23:12

So that's 14.

Monica Corwin 23:13

Yes. But then it still will not hit because it's got a 16ac, but it better than this. All right, that was your first tech, so do another one. Did you have two?

Johnny 23:24

Eight again. Another miss.

Andy 23:26

All right, two.

Monica Corwin 23:28

You got sidetracked by that bite. You got so mad you're seeing red, you just start. All right, so then next, would you like to move or anything? No. Bone detection.

Johnny 23:40

Stand my ground.

Monica Corwin 23:41

Cool. And then next up is going to be Tim. You're over here.

Tim 23:46

All righty. So I'm into cure. Well, wait, I don't know if I need to. I will. I think I'm going to also do a two weapon. I have two weapon fighting as a bonus action. So can I jump? So I'm assuming he's facing Ralph. Ralph's swinging at him with his daggers. And I'm going to Take my. I have the two weapons I have is a club and a dagger. So I take a swing with each, which. So I roll a D20.

Monica Corwin 24:16

Yeah. So you have to move up here first. We're going to move up. I'll move up behind him. That means you'll have advantage. So you'll roll the D20 twice, and you'll take the highest roll for each time.

Tim 24:25

20 on the 1st.

Monica Corwin 24:27

Nice.

Tim 24:28

Natural 20. And it's a 1D 4 plus 2 for each.

Monica Corwin 24:33

All right, so what you're going to do. So. So with the natural 20. So that means you're going to roll your damage, damage, dice twice.

Johnny 24:40

Okay.

Monica Corwin 24:41

Instead of just the ones 2, 2. Nice. And then what's your modifier? So 2, 2, 4 plus.

Tim 24:50

It was plus 2. It says damage is 1D 4 plus 2.

Monica Corwin 24:53

So.

Tim 24:53

Okay, so it be 4 on each, I guess.

Monica Corwin 24:56

Yeah. So that's just the one to hit. You have to roll again for your second.

Tim 25:00

Okay.

Monica Corwin 25:01

Yeah.

Tim 25:02

So I roll twice for this one, too?

Monica Corwin 25:03

Yep.

Tim 25:04

Okay.

Monica Corwin 25:05

Four.

Andy 25:06

So, yeah, four.

Johnny 25:07

So.

Tim 25:07

And then six.

Monica Corwin 25:08

So you're D20. Did you roll your D20 twice?

Tim 25:11

I did not do that.

Monica Corwin 25:13

Yeah, so roll that one 18 and then roll it one more time, because you could get a natural point

Tim 25:20

eight.

Monica Corwin 25:20

Okay, well, they take the 18. That's good. That will hit him. And then you said you could just use the damage you just rolled. So that was four again.

Tim 25:27

Yeah, it was four.

Monica Corwin 25:28

Yeah.

Tim 25:30

Four plus two. So six.

Monica Corwin 25:32

Okay. Yeah. This one sort of totters over, and a little, like, hoof of breath comes out, and you guys get a little blast of heat as it dies. He's gone. All right.

Andy 25:43

Yay.

Tim 25:48

Man, I'm exhausted. Yeah. My ears. My. My. My ears hurt from all that thunderclap. Kind of enjoyed the puff of warm air out of its mouth, though, because it's cold down in this dungeon.

Andy 26:03

I'm like, little heater.

Tim 26:06

Little life comes back into me. Okay. All right.

Andy 26:10

Everybody doing good? Got through that?

Tim 26:13

Yeah. Andrus, you okay?

Andy 26:14

I think I'm okay.

Tim 26:15

Should you do, like, a concussion check? Yeah, I got an app on my phone for it.

Andy 26:20

Looking good. Okay. Oh.

Tim 26:24

So now can we, like, roll perception to see if there's anything in the room that we're missing?

Monica Corwin 26:30

Yeah, absolutely.

Andy 26:32

Yeah.

Tim 26:33

So.

Andy 26:34

Ooh, four. I'm not very perceptive right now.

Monica Corwin 26:40

Ooh.

Johnny 26:41

I have 16.

Monica Corwin 26:43

It doesn't seem like you're missing anything. Just, like, looking around, you see some, like, little fire piers here as just a reminder. And then there's a dais with a box that. That is on the top here.

Andy 26:57

We should go see what that. What's in that box.

Tim 26:59

Yeah, definitely go check out that box.

Andy 27:01

Yeah.

Tim 27:01

See if it's locked or see if there's anything we have to do to get into it. Yeah.

Andy 27:08

All right.

Johnny 27:09

Should. Should we split up in case it blows up? Just one of us open it.

Tim 27:15

Yeah. I'm my character.

Andy 27:19

I would be.

Tim 27:19

Sammick's too curious. He just gets right up on her.

Andy 27:22

Yeah.

Tim 27:23

Poking it and touching it.

Andy 27:26

In the first episode, we didn't have a key, did we?

Monica Corwin 27:30

I don't believe so. I don't remember a key.

Andy 27:33

Okay.

Tim 27:34

So. And I feel like. Yeah. So should we roll maybe? Like, let's roll.

Andy 27:39

Yeah. Investigation.

Monica Corwin 27:40

Absolutely can. Well, so the best thing to do here, since there are three of you, you all can't pick. Pick it up and investigate it all at the same time. Walk around and look at it all at the same time. You're going to need to designate one person to do the.

Andy 27:54

I have a plus six in investigation. Should I do it or does anybody else want to do it?

Tim 27:58

No, you go for it. I have plus five, so you go for it.

Andy 28:02

Three. Three plus six. Six, seven, eight, nine. Never mind.

Monica Corwin 28:06

Yes. It looks like a box. It's wooden.

Tim 28:09

It's a box.

Johnny 28:10

Cool, cool, cool.

Andy 28:11

Maybe I do have that concussion.

Monica Corwin 28:13

It's sort of shine to the wood. Like it's been polished.

Andy 28:18

Is there like a lock on it?

Monica Corwin 28:20

No.

Andy 28:21

Okay. Do you want to roll 10 since clearly that wasn't a great roll.

Tim 28:25

Yeah. If I can try again. Sure. I'll do five plus five. Ten.

Monica Corwin 28:31

Yep. If you notice the same qualities. It's a nice box.

Tim 28:33

I can. I concur.

Andy 28:37

Yes.

Tim 28:37

I like this box.

Andy 28:39

Ralph.

Tim 28:40

You opened it. Not sure if it opens. Yeah.

Johnny 28:42

Yeah. Can I also have an investigation or can I just open it? Can I just open it?

Monica Corwin 28:48

Well, so if you want to check it first would be an investigation check. But if you just want to open it. That's just opening the box.

Johnny 28:55

Yeah, let's just open the thing.

Monica Corwin 28:56

You're just going to open it. All right.

Andy 28:57

And his face melts. Like,

Monica Corwin 29:02

pick it up and open the top. You're going to need to make a constitution saving throw, please. Correct.

Johnny 29:09

Six plus two.

Monica Corwin 29:10

That is going to be a failure. They are going to get blown back like a massive force of wind similar to the repulsion breath is going to blow you all the way back to the entrance. And you will each take.

Johnny 29:25

I'm sorry.

Monica Corwin 29:28

One point of force damage not too bad.

Andy 29:34

So I feel like. Sorry.

Monica Corwin 29:35

There was a trap under the box, when you opened it, that triggered that you guys hadn't seen in your investigation checks your slightly lower roles. But the box is open on the.

Johnny 29:46

Okay, that was my question. Is it still open?

Monica Corwin 29:48

Yep, still open.

Tim 29:50

Can I. Do I have mage hand cantrip? Can I do that? So. Well, Its range is 30ft. That's too far, isn't it?

Monica Corwin 29:59

10, 15, 20, 25. Yeah, you're good. You can reach it.

Tim 30:02

Okay, so I'm going to use mage hand, which is the sort of like magical hand that's going to come out and I'm going to just ask it to reach in and just pull out whatever's inside of it and bring it back.

Monica Corwin 30:12

Yep.

Tim 30:12

If there's anything inside of it.

Monica Corwin 30:14

Yeah, you do it. It's you. As it reaches in, you notice something long and thin. Looks like a slender piece of wood or something similar.

Andy 30:24

I know what that looks like.

Monica Corwin 30:25

You guys. I'm trying to think how to explain this. When it reaches you, are you going to take it? We're just looking.

Tim 30:37

I'm going to let the mage hand hold it and ask you guys, like, for now. So like, I think we all should roll. Like, we should investigate. Like, we should try to see like what if we noticed anything about it.

Monica Corwin 30:49

So.

Tim 30:50

Yeah, Andy, go for it.

Monica Corwin 30:51

So unless you're touching it, it would be just a safe exception. Yeah, got it.

Andy 30:56

Well, I'm. I'm gonna. I'm gonna take one from the team because I am very curious and maybe like a blustery sort of way. So I'm gon out of the mage hand.

Monica Corwin 31:04

Okay. As you take transforms in your hand and it will look like your favorite pencil. What is that?

Andy 31:10

Ooh, it looks like a golden bear.

Johnny 31:12

I think.

Andy 31:13

I think it looks like a blue golden pencil.

Monica Corwin 31:15

Blue golden bear. Nice.

Andy 31:17

Guys.

Tim 31:17

It made me a custom pencil. My name on it. Yeah. Like back in elementary school.

Andy 31:22

Like, what are the changes?

Tim 31:23

It's tie dye. It's got my name on it.

Andy 31:27

All right. I rolled a 14 and then plus. What was that? Six investigations. So a 20.

Monica Corwin 31:33

Yeah. It's got a sort of faint shimmering across it and it has a very nice long point and a perfectly sculpted eraser on the other end.

Andy 31:43

Nice. I'm gonna wave that around and see just like how it feels as little magic wand.

Johnny 31:48

Yeah.

Andy 31:49

Anybody else wanna check this baby out?

Tim 31:51

Yeah, let me see that thing.

Monica Corwin 31:53

All right, as you take it and you hold it in your hand, it will shimmer slightly and transform into your favorite paint pencil. What would that look like to you?

Tim 32:00

Okay, so I would have A palomino HB in my hand.

Monica Corwin 32:03

Nice.

Tim 32:04

A nice. A blue palomino hb.

Monica Corwin 32:06

And you each see it, transformed it into your ideal writing instrument.

Tim 32:12

And then I hand it over to Johnny or to Ralph. I just go ahead and hand it to him. Does he take it?

Monica Corwin 32:19

Yep.

Andy 32:20

And it blows up.

Johnny 32:21

Little guy.

Tim 32:23

The cops in his date.

Monica Corwin 32:25

All right, what does it look like for you?

Johnny 32:26

Good job, Tennessee Red.

Monica Corwin 32:28

Nice. Nice.

Johnny 32:30

And everyone says, that smells good.

Tim 32:32

Oh, smells better. That smells better.

Andy 32:34

Yeah. I'm trying to think if I have any interesting, like, spells that lets me enhance this or see better. Oh, you know what? I have an illusory script spell, which I write on. Allows me to write on something and imbue it with a potent illusion that lasts for the duration. I guess I'm not creative enough to know what to do with that.

Tim 32:57

You could also, like. I bet you have a high arcana. You could roll Arcana to see if it does anything special. Like, if you can tell if it doesn't special.

Andy 33:03

I didn't even know about that. I have a pl. I have a plus 6 arcana. So do you want to go for it, Ralph? Do you want to hand that back to me and. Okay.

Tim 33:12

Hand what? Hand what back to you? It's already gone.

Andy 33:15

He's already stolen.

Johnny 33:18

Where'd he go?

Andy 33:20

I have a 15 plus 6 arcana.

Monica Corwin 33:24

Yeah. You know this to be a very powerful magical artifact. As you look it over and feel, try to get a feel for it, you realize that this is a writing instrument. In order to figure out exactly what it does, you're gonna need to write with it.

Andy 33:40

Okay. Do you remember if I still have all those, like, random books that I, like, shoved in my cloak? Anybody?

Monica Corwin 33:49

Guys, you had. I can't remember if you kept them any.

Andy 33:53

Oh, I thought.

Tim 33:54

I think we.

Andy 33:54

Oh, you had to put them back on the shelf.

Tim 33:56

Yeah, we put them back on the shelf. I mean, we've got the calligrapher's kit, so we shouldn't have some paper.

Andy 34:00

That's true.

Tim 34:00

But, like, so I think I had the ME look at my inventory. Yeah, I mean, I had the calligrapher supplies. I think we all did. But I can hand you. I mean, let's say I hand you a piece of paper. Oh, like, all right. Just hand you a piece of parchment or.

Andy 34:13

Well, why don't you take it, Tim? Why don't I hand you the pencil and you can write if you want? Unless you don't want to, like, you know.

Tim 34:19

No, I'll go for it. I would be Way too curious. So, okay, so you hand it back to me. It transforms into a nice blue palomino hp. Not the remake that they overpriced, but the feral but like the original one. And I write, hello world. Ouch. Thought about it for a second.

Andy 34:38

Yeah.

Tim 34:38

I just write my name like I signed my signature.

Monica Corwin 34:41

Yeah. As your pencil touches down on the sheet. Sheet of parchment, the graphite dust sort of flakes away as you're writing as the point starts to. To dull. And then the dust starts to shake on the paper and sort of like sprinkle off onto the floor. And it seems like there's way more than just the quick signature that you did. And it starts to look like it's shaking and the entire room starts to shake just a little bit. Oh boy. What you do look around. You sort of feel a slight quake and then everything goes dark.

Tim 35:15

That's where if a giant boulder starts rolling at us.

Monica Corwin 35:18

You guys are unconscious.

Andy 35:20

Oh boy.

Tim 35:21

Okay.

Monica Corwin 35:22

You wake. Let me put these here. Give me a second. It's on the other side the tree. Are you guys. Three hours later the shop where you started the stationary store before you came to the land of grafia. And it is probably twilight. There's a nice soft breeze coming in through the open windows. And then there's a shadow that sort of looms over you. And an old Tortle says, I knew you guys were the ones for the job. You guys.

Andy 35:59

Somebody still holding that pencil or is it just all gone?

Monica Corwin 36:02

Yes. Pencil is still in Sammy's hand.

Tim 36:05

Can I keep the pencil?

Johnny 36:08

You could trade it for a shopping spree.

Tim 36:11

What's it worth to you?

Monica Corwin 36:14

The Tortle will kind of help you guys up. And he'll say again. He knew you guys were the one for the job when he saw how. How you handled that. Mimicked. Unfortunately, his magic wasn't. Wouldn't allow him to go back to. To fix the mistake that he made. And then before you, he transforms from the old Tortle to. Hold on.

Tim 36:38

Let me make sure we say Henry Hoolin.

Monica Corwin 36:42

Jeez. I'm sorry. Lost my notes.

Andy 36:46

Special guest Henry Hulen as Twrtle.

Monica Corwin 36:50

That'd be funny. He transforms into the gold dragon wyrmling like the ones that you fought in the temple. But he is not being aggressive towards you. He just transforms into this little dragon dude. And he will hold out his claw and ask if he can have the quill, please.

Tim 37:09

Should we give it to him?

Andy 37:12

Yeah. He's not being aggressive. I feel like. I don't know.

Johnny 37:17

I don't know why does he look like the other things?

Andy 37:19

Yeah, well, the gold book was. Yeah. Yeah, let's do that.

Monica Corwin 37:25

He will say that his friends were guarding that temple. They did not get kicked out of Grafia the same way that he did. And they were sort of left there, and they took it upon themselves to guard the temple where the Eternal Quill rested until it could be activated again to restore the land. Because they did not have the power that he does.

Tim 37:48

Can we ask friends?

Johnny 37:51

Yeah. Like, how do you feel about the fact that we just iced your friends,

Andy 37:54

murdered all your friends?

Monica Corwin 37:56

He will say their sacrifice was noble and they kept the Eternal Quill safe. And now they allowed him to. They will allow him to restore GRA to its former glory and its people.

Tim 38:11

Well, I guess we give it to him.

Monica Corwin 38:13

Or.

Tim 38:14

I don't know if we can do, like, a. And just in case. And then this might be, like, me just prolonging things. And we're just trying to finish up. But I'm gonna do. I wanna try. Detect Thoughts on the. Yeah. Just to, like. Let's see.

Andy 38:28

One thing I've learned about this is Tim is very good at picking spells, and I'm not.

Tim 38:33

Well, I've only used, like, three of them. I just. But I did have. That was one that I was wanting to use, and I haven't mailed it, so I'm gonna try it. So I'm gonna roll

Monica Corwin 38:43

or. Okay. Yeah. You can't really penetrate his golden, shining exterior of a mind.

Andy 38:51

Okay.

Tim 38:52

Worth a shot. What do you guys think?

Andy 38:57

We should do it.

Tim 38:58

He.

Andy 38:58

Sorry. Go.

Monica Corwin 38:59

He will offer as well to reward you for returning this to him and allowing him to correct his mistakes.

Tim 39:05

Now we're talking.

Andy 39:07

Yeah.

Johnny 39:09

Like, give me the keys to the store.

Andy 39:11

Let's do it.

Tim 39:13

Okay. So I very slowly reach out. I take it back for a second, I look at you guys, and then I'm like, okay, fine. And then I hand it over. This. I want to know what it turns into. It will transform into an Amazon Basics.

Andy 39:32

It's good for writing in shops. It's good for writing in grafia. It's good for writing in a Dungeon.

Monica Corwin 39:38

Being the DM. I will say it will transform into a Blackwing 24. And he will take it and move back by his table, and then you'll watch him, like, close his hands on it. And then it will disappear. And then he seems. His shoulders seem to slump down, and he just seems relieved. Well, as relieved as you can tell on the dragon's face. So. And he will turn back to you and say, now, Your reward. So I'm going to have you guys roll a D100 for me. So that is going to be the two tens that look like this. And so this will represent your tens and this will represent your single digit. So just roll those for me and you roll it. This is a 72.

Tim 40:26

I say I got a 74.

Andy 40:30

I have a 42. All right.

Monica Corwin 40:33

I'll go around individually here.

Johnny 40:35

Six.

Tim 40:35

A six.

Monica Corwin 40:37

Dang.

Johnny 40:39

I should just lie.

Andy 40:42

96.

Monica Corwin 40:43

All right, so let's start with jelly. What did you get?

Johnny 40:46

Six.

Monica Corwin 40:48

You will get.

Andy 40:51

You get nothing.

Monica Corwin 40:52

Potion, greater healing. And then roll one more time for me. Yep. Roll again.

Andy 41:00

43.

Monica Corwin 41:02

43. You will also get on the right dimes. You will also get a small sack of gemstones. There's eight gemstones that are cut and polished inside that bag. All right.

Andy 41:20

Buy another awl with that.

Johnny 41:24

You do have quite a collection.

Monica Corwin 41:25

Tim. Give me a. Do you want. What was your one? You.

Tim 41:27

174.

Monica Corwin 41:29

74. You will get a first level spell scroll. What spell would you like? Well, you. I'm not going to choose now because you're going to want to look at it.

Andy 41:37

But okay.

Monica Corwin 41:38

It's a spell scroll that basically it will allow you to put any first level spell on it. Even ones you don't know or you can't learn as your. As your class. So that's pretty cool for a magic wielder. And then give me one more D100 roll please.

Tim 41:53

89.

Monica Corwin 41:54

89. That's gonna be. That is gonna be 150 gold. A bag of 150 gold picked for you.

Andy 42:04

Drinks on Tim.

Monica Corwin 42:06

Andy, you're up next.

Andy 42:07

What was your 42? Life, the universe and everything will get

Monica Corwin 42:13

a of climbing as your magical item. And then your. And then roll one more time for me. 45. Roll out D10 for me. 3. 3. You will also get a carved harp of exotic wood with an ivory inlay and zircon gems.

Andy 42:37

Ooh. Okay.

Johnny 42:41

Should sell it to Tim.

Tim 42:42

I was gonna say I've got 150 gold. I recently came in with some money.

Andy 42:45

Yes.

Monica Corwin 42:46

The harp is worth 750 gold.

Andy 42:49

Dang.

Tim 42:49

I'll give you 150.

Andy 42:51

Can we start a band?

Johnny 42:53

What are you gonna do with it?

Andy 42:54

Can I join the band?

Tim 42:56

What do you do with it? Do you know how to play that thing? I give a lesson and that is

Monica Corwin 43:02

your guys first loot rolling. So that's exciting.

Andy 43:06

Yay.

Tim 43:06

Yeah.

Monica Corwin 43:07

Yeah. The he the warmling will hand off your your rewards and say you could also have your pick of anything in the shop, should you wish to take anything else.

Andy 43:19

Oh, man. Yeah, well, I'm gonna go. I'm gonna go grab that little dozen pack of golden bears in the corner. Just because it has the family crest on it first, but also, you know, good pencil.

Monica Corwin 43:33

Does he stock?

Tim 43:34

All

Johnny 43:36

mine are a little bloody.

Monica Corwin 43:40

In the corner, you can find a box of both used and new Os that seem of various ages and sizes and shapes. You can have your pick.

Johnny 43:51

I want to get the one that

Monica Corwin 43:52

looks

Johnny 43:55

nice, but it's also a various

Andy 43:58

agent made of exotic woods and metals.

Johnny 44:02

Arrow number two.

Andy 44:03

Yeah. Has a dragon claw on the tip that literally extra punches the.

Johnny 44:10

It's like a diamond entry through the paper.

Andy 44:12

Yeah, but it's just a dragon tooth tip.

Tim 44:14

Yeah, yeah, dragon tooth tip. And I am going to get a notebook. I'm going to look for the nicest sort of like, fattest notebook that I can't just like. And it's something I imagine. I. I'm looking for something that is maybe like, wrapped in something resembling like, imagine like dragons. Well, that'd be weird if he was selling dragon.

Monica Corwin 44:35

It'd be a nice leather. A really nice leather.

Tim 44:37

And I feel like we've come around one.

Andy 44:39

We've recently come into some, like, quite a bit of dragon leather that you could use for that.

Monica Corwin 44:43

Oh, crap.

Johnny 44:44

We should have brought it with us.

Tim 44:46

Hand him some dragon hide. Do you mind making me a notebook out of this?

Johnny 44:50

This was your friend.

Tim 44:51

He just turns and throws up in the corner like, no. Yeah. So I find a leather, sort of big leather notebook that has, like the wraparound and the tie on, and I. I hug it to my chest.

Monica Corwin 45:02

Easily done. He will again, thank you. And then escort you out of the store into the nice twilight evening. And that will wrap up the end of this adventure. Yay.

Johnny 45:13

Let's go get hammered.

Tim 45:17

Shane was just like, all right, see you guys.

Andy 45:19

Bye.

Monica Corwin 45:21

That was fun.

Andy 45:23

Yeah. Yeah.

Tim 45:25

Okay. So, yeah, we're all standing outside and we're just, like, trying to decide what to do next. That would be a funny place to be.

Andy 45:30

Yeah.

Tim 45:30

Like, so you guys. You guys want to get dragged?

Andy 45:34

Let's all start a podcast.

Johnny 45:36

I know about this really good elven brothel. It's Friday.

Andy 45:42

We have all this extra, like, eraser portions. So we should start some sort of a. Like a show where we can like, use that, like some sort of an erase show that we can erase later and hence the erasable podcast born.

Monica Corwin 45:56

Yeah.

Andy 45:58

Well, Monica, thank you.

Tim 45:59

Origin story revealed. Yes.

Andy 46:03

Thank you, Monica, for leading us through this and building that world. And stall your work toward this. This has been a lot of fun.

Monica Corwin 46:12

Yeah, that was the most. Yes.

Johnny 46:13

Yeah, we should get an erasable Dungeons and Dragons group going.

Andy 46:18

Oh, that'd be fun.

Tim 46:19

Yeah.

Johnny 46:20

Not volunteering to be the dm. Yeah, I'm not volunteering anyone else either.

Andy 46:25

Yeah, that'd be really fun.

Monica Corwin 46:27

Thank you for that. I like playing a lot more than I like DMing. A lot less to keep track of.

Tim 46:33

Oh, gosh. Yeah, I can't imagine there. And all us noobs, too.

Andy 46:38

Remind me Johnny had a little bit back there.

Tim 46:41

Johnny played 20 years ago. I've listened to a podcast but never played, and Andy's just like a fresh start. Just like Slade here.

Andy 46:48

What, do I roll again 30 years ago? Well, next time you all hear us in your ears, we're going to go back to kind of our regularly scheduled programming to kind of figure out what that means. I guess we have a little bit of a backlog of pencils and notebooks and various things to talk, so a

Tim 47:05

lot of new stuff that we talk about.

Andy 47:08

So cool. Well, Monica, thank you so much. It's been a lot of fun and sad.

Monica Corwin 47:12

This is over.

Andy 47:13

Yeah, Guys, we'll see you on the next. Yeah, see you on the next episode.

Tim 47:19

We did it, guys.

Andy 47:20

We did it.
